The first race of the “Car of the Future” (COTF) has been won by Craig Lowndes on the streets of Adelaide driving the RedBull Racing Australia Commodore which uses the full PWR Performance Products cooling package.

Despite the biggest technical upheaval in the history of the series, the 250km race was topped by the same two teams who dominated the 2012 V8 Supercars Championship, Lowndes putting in a crushing display of authority to beat PWR cooled Davison home by more than twenty seconds.

Lowndes, who started from third on the grid, hit the front on lap 32, shortly before the halfway mark of the 78-lap race, and was rarely troubled thereafter, stretching his lead and cruising to a comfortable victory.

The win was the 90th in Lowndes staggering career, equalling all time wins with record holder Mark Skaife at the top of the table.

Jamie Whincup finished third and completed a 1-3 for Red Bull Racing Australia.

All cars on the podium had PWR Performance Products on board.
