OGIER CLAIMS FIRST WIN FOR NEW VOLKSWAGEN WRC TEAM AT RALLY SWEDENSebastien Ogier and Julien Ingrassia celebrated the first Volks-wagen Polo R WRC win in the Rally Sweden. In doing so, Volkswagen has already far exceeded its own expectations of the team’s debut season in the FIA World Rally Championship (WRC).

In only its second competitive outing, the 315hp Volkswagen Polo R World Rally car which uses the full PWR cooling pack-age emerged triumphant on the Scandinavian ice and snow against strong opposition, including nine times world champion Sebastien Loeb who was driving the PWR cooled Citroen.

2Ogier set the foundation for the success in qualifying on Thursday, when he clocked the fastest time to finish seven places ahead of the multiple world champion. Loeb eventually ended the rally 41.8 seconds behind the dominating Volkswagen Polo R driven by Ogier.

Eleven best times from 22 special stages, Ogier and In-grassia led the overall standings right from the start and refused to be shifted from the top spot until they reached the finish on Sunday afternoon.

With this win Ogier is now leading the WRC champion-ship after two rounds.

3Jari Matti Latvala and Miikka Anttila finished fourth in the sec-ond Polo R WRC to complete an outstanding team result for Volkswagen.

PWR Performance Products had another strong performance at the Rally Sweden with 8 of the top 10 cars using PWR Per-formance Products including the first 6 cars.
