Will Power has won his second race of the 2014 Indycar season at Belle Isle after qualifying in 16th in the PWR Performance Products cooled Team Penske IndyCar. Power overtook race leader Ryan Briscoe on a Lap 60 restart and then held off Graham Rahal over the final 10 lap sprint to win by .3308 of a second in Race 1 of the Chevrolet Indy Dual in Detroit. It was his 23rd IndyCar victory.

Graham Rahal driving for Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing, started a season best ninth and recorded his best finish since placing second at Long Beach in April 2013.

Tony Kanaan finished in third place, his 66th career podium and best street/road course finish since Baltimore in 2011 and posted his best finish of the season as did Justin Wilson in fourth.

Helio Castroneves finished in fifth position after qualifying on pole position and leading a field high 30 laps for the race.
