With the dawn of a new era in Formula1 racing, the first race meeting of the 2014 season was held at the 5.3km Albert Park street circuit in Melbourne Australia.
Changes to the new Formula1 cars are many and include changing from the 2.4 litre 18,000 rpm V8 to the new 1.6 litre 15,000 rpm turbo charged V6. Different aerodynamics, powertrain and the use of hybrid technology will see the 2014’s F1 machines run races on 35 percent less fuel than last season.

The race was won by Nico Rosberg with Daniel Ricciardo driving for RedBull Racing which uses the full PWR Performance Products cooling package finishing in second place.
Due to a technicality involving the fuel flow sensor Ricciardo’s result was excluded from the official results but RedBull Racing is appealing the decision with final results still to be decided.

14 of the 22 Formula1 cars that started on the grid used PWR Performance Products.
