The Australian GT championship decider was held on the 3.4 kilometre street circuit at Sydney Olympic Park.

Klark Quinn driving the PWR cooled Porsche GT3-R was in position 2 in the championship before the Sydney meeting but drove consistently in both race 1 and race 2 to secure the Australian GT Championship.

In race 1, Quinn drove strongly to finish the race in second position behind German star driver Bernd Schneider who was driving a Mercedes SLS AMG GT3.

Quinn started the 30 minute final race knowing that third would be enough to secure the title regardless of any other events, and a podium hardly looked in doubt as the race unfolded.

The Porsche GT3-R driver attempted to take Schneider on the outside at the first corner, before slotting back into a lonely run to second for all but the standard pit stops shuffle.

Another second place finish in the final race was all that was needed for Klark Quinn to be crowned the 2012 Australian GT champion.
