The streets of Sydney has not been a happy hunting ground for Jamie Whincup who drives the PWR Performance Products cooled Holden Commodore for RedBull Australia.
Accidents have been an achilles heel for Whincup at the treacherous 3.42 kilometre concrete lined Homebush street circuit. The defending champion famously squandered his title chances at the same track in 2010, hitting a wall during heavy rain.

He has also missed the top 10 shootout a few times over the years. Whincup starts the race with a mere 20 points lead in the championship over his team mate PWR cooled Craig Lowndes.
Whincup started the event on a positive to take pole position for race 35 and led from the front to domi-nate the race to secure his first race win and first podium at the Sydney track.

Jonathon Webb finished in second position followed by Shane Van Gisbergen for a complete PWR Performance Products cooled podium.
Craig Lowndes was involved in a accident and fin-ished the race in 15th position which gives Whincup a 110 point leading going into the final race.
