Marco Wittmann has won the DTM race at the Hungaroring track in Hungary after qualifying on pole position. Driving his PWR Performance Products cooled BMW M4 DTM, he crossed the finish line after 41 laps with a margin of 6.615 seconds.

Following his success in the Hockenheim season opener, this was his second DTM race win of the season and he is leading the championship by 19 points ahead of defending champion Mike Rockenfeller on 31 points with Miguel Mortara in third on 27 points.

Miguel Molina driving a Audi and Bruno Spengler driving a BMW finished second and third respectively.

In total, 33,000 spectators came to watch the first DTM race weekend in Hungary after 26 years.
